About
The Mosman Council DATAstore is both catalogue and repository for public, machine-readable information published by Mosman Council for the purposes of building web services with our community.
What data do we publish?
Information that is public and non-private, or information that Council has a legislative obligation to publish. Not all our information is available in electronic, machine-readable form. We are launching with data that is likely to find an immediate use.
Who can use the data?
Anyone (but note the licence attached to each dataset). We built the DATAstore to provision our own web services. By offering public access, we hope web developers will innovate on Council's data and deliver additional products of value to our community.
Licensing
The Mosman Council DATAstore makes data available for reuse by Council, other government and public sector agencies, business and the community.
Wherever possible, information resources are made available under an open content license, specifically a Creative Commons Australia licence. Check the licence carefully as it applies to each dataset.
Where data is used 'as supplied', attribute as “Source: Mosman Council” and provide the URL (web address) of the dataset. Where you have modified, transformed or derived new material from Mosman Council data, attribute as “Based on Mosman Council data” and provide the URL (web address) of the dataset. It may also be helpful to note the currency of the data, stating when it was accessed for your application. When attributing the data source, do not suggest endorsement by Mosman Council of you or your use of the work.
For more about Creative Commons and attribution, see How do I properly attribute a Creative Commons licensed work?
